11/22 Abby is working on writing an essay to compare/contrast King Arthur with Robin Hood. We're focusing on writing a comparative statement and then finding at least two pieces of evidence to support the statement. I want Abby to understand and internalize the format since it is a standard practice for 7th and 8th grade. I am hyper-focused on getting my words and directions clear so that Abby begins to understand the structure. To be continued...

We've finished our reading of legends and have begun to plan an essay that will compare and contrast Robin Hood and King Arthur. The essay will be completed before the Thanksgiving break.
Legends become Tall Tales when the life of the character or hero is exaggerated. Next stop is Tall Tales.
We've finished our reading of one version of King Arthur. This week we started to learn about diagramming sentences beginning with subjects, verbs, and conjunctions. Next up is a study of cause and effect in literature.
